Anglia Innovation Partnership (AIP) hosted a make, bake, and buy stall in Centrum at the end of January, in support of local cancer charity, Big C.

In the morning community members from across the park donated their homemade bakes and crafted goods which produced a fantastic display of cakes, brownies, cookies and more.

Throughout the morning the campus community were able to donate what they wanted and take something away with them. Numerous incredible goods were generously donated, and a large chocolate cake with lots of chocolatey pieces on the top (see photos) that was submitted was such a work of art that a silent auction was held for the whole cake for one lucky winner!

The morning was a massive success, with the total raised hitting £739.29! This beat the previous charity bake sale fundraiser, held in May 2023, which totalled £570.

Alexia Mlynarska, Community Development Manager, said, “The cake, bake and buy stall was a fantastic opportunity to bring the community together, to enjoy a baked treat and support a good cause. We had lots of wonderful creations donated, and we’re very grateful to everyone who prepared something or donated.”

Tom Holmes, Events & Engagement Manager at Big C Cancer Charity said, ‘We would like to say a massive thank you to the Anglia Innovation Partnership team and everyone who supported the event, we were completely blown away by the generosity of everyone who donated items for us to sell and to those who purchased items. As a local, independent charity we rely on donations from individuals and businesses to fund the amazing range of cancer support services we offer at our centres.’
