The Chestnut Nursery, serving Norwich Research Park, is a real asset for the community and is very popular with staff working on site. As a result, there has been a waiting list for spaces, so the AIP team worked with the nursery team to help expand the provision of this key amenity, on the park campus, with a new lease now in place on an adjacent building, enabling the nursery to expand the indoor and garden areas available for children to play and learn in. This has meant that the nursey has increased provision from 114 places to 160 places.
The nursery has a dedicated and inspirational team of highly skilled, and trained, nursery practitioners who deliver the highest quality childcare. Children are able to create, investigate, and explore, encouraging their curiosity, imagination, resilience and creativity.
The manager, Yvonne, said, “We are delighted that we have the option to offer more spaces for staff. The AIP team took on board our need for more space and facilitated the opportunity to expand!”
Jonathan Barnard, Head of Asset Management and Development for AIP, the science park management company for Norwich Research Park, said, “It is really important to have amenities such as a successful nursery because companies need this provision to attract and retain the best staff.”
The nursery is part of a suite of amenities offered by the park campus including the UEA Sportspark which includes a gym, squash courts, Olympic-sized swimming pool and climbing wall, and the Centrum building, managed by the AIP team, which provides a central hub for the park, with an open ground floor café/restaurant and terrace that can also be used for informal meetings and working as well as a range of meeting rooms for hire on a flexible rate.
