Roz Bird, CEO of Anglia Innovation Partnership, the campus management company for Norwich Research Park, has become the co-ordinator of the Women in IASP community. This group aims to enhance the visibility of women within the International Association of Science Park (IASP) network and to help the members unlock the value of gender diversity within their organisations.

Roz hosted an online gathering in early June to officially inaugurate her engagement in the new role.

At the start of the meeting, Roz suggested to the group that they should consider their needs, views and actions on three levels:

  1. Personal experience, personal journey and support
  2. The individual’s work environment – is it fit for the 21st Century?
  3. Our individual innovation ecosystems – creating an inclusive culture and considering good practice examples to share with the group.

Members of the international women’s group have been asked to share their experiences and observations to help identify areas of improvement and discuss how the group can positively influence all three levels to drive positive change for the members, the people they work with and the people working in science parks and areas of innovation around the world.

The group will meet monthly, going forward, and Roz is hoping to meet some of the members in person when she attends the IASP World Conference, in Nairobi, in September.

If you’d like to join Women in IASP, please contact women@iasp.ws.
