For our very first meet the team article we caught up with Jade Potter, our Community Hub and Events Associate. Jade is currently our newest member of the team and joined Anglia Innovation Partnership in August 2022.
- What does your role involve?
At Anglia Innovation Partnership I have a dual role as Community Hub and Events Associate.
For my Community Hub role, I am based on the Hub in the Centrum building. My role is about being the front of house, the first person you see when you enter the building. I am there to support with any queries relating to the Centrum building and the Innovation Centre.
As an Events Associate, I work closely with Alexia Mlynarska to help organise events at Norwich Research Park. We work closely with external clients who wish to use the Centrum as a space for their events. There are also a lot of community events that we host to bring the park together.
- What is your favourite thing about your role?
I am very lucky within my dual role that both positions give me the opportunity to work closely with a variety of people from walks of life. I love being able to bring people together.
- What is challenging about your role?
As most people will understand the hardest part of my role is having enough hours in the day! As I juggle two positions it is about getting the right balance for both.
- Where have you worked before?
Throughout my working life I have done a variety of different roles. My first full time position was as an Optical Consultant, running pre-screening health checks for the optometrists. I then started my first administration-based role as an office administrator for a recruitment company in Norwich city centre.
I then progressed to working at Norwich City Football Club, which involved some very long days and supporting the running of a matchday through the organisation of the matchday stewarding team. This was my first experience of organising events.
Moving on from the Football Club, I became a Facilities and Events Manager for a local accountant’s firm in the city, organising office refurbs and office moves, before moving to AIP LLP.
- An interesting fact about yourself?
I am an avid concertgoer and have seen over 500 musicians live!
- What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I become ‘Little Owl’ helping to lead and run a Girlguiding Brownie unit. We meet weekly and have outings such as pack holidays and trips away. I also really love live music, so will never turn down the opportunity to attend a concert.
