Join the local cancer charity for an autumn amble this half term

On Wednesday 26th October, Big C and their supporters will be gathering together at the Holkham Estate to reflect, remember and enjoy the new season with a walk around the grounds.

Antonia Gray, Big C’s Marketing and Communications Office said, “We would love for anyone who feels a connection, or is part of the local community, to join us for an autumn stroll around the magnificent Holkham Estate. Everyone is welcome and it’s a wonderful opportunity for all the family to get together. Hopefully we’ll have a beautiful crisp morning to enjoy! It’s also an opportunity for those remembering loved ones or caring for a sick relative to take a moment of reflection in natural surroundings.”

Adult tickets for the event are £5 and children are free. The Walk of Thoughts takes place from 10.30am to 3.30pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance here or just turn up on the day*. Crafts activities are included. Face painting, refreshments at a small additional charge.

There are several routes with varying levels to suit all ages and abilities. Choose between a 2¼, 4- or 6-mile path. For little legs, it’s recommended to pick up a nature trail on arrival and enjoy the 2¼ mile route around the lake, as you spot wildlife that call Holkham Estate their home.

Once you have finished exploring the grounds, join the Big C team for seasonal craft activities at the finish line, where children and adults alike can show their creative side. Then shake off those autumn chills with a cup of hot chocolate and a tasty treat.

Antonia adds, “By purchasing a ticket you’ll be helping us raise funds to support people affected by cancer in Norfolk and surrounding counties. Why not go the extra mile and ask friends and family to sponsor you? You could set up a JustGiving page and ask for donations, to help you on your way.”

Holkham Estate parking charges will apply*
