Biography

David is Executive Chair for Norwich Research Park. He is a highly proficient leader of transformational change and progression in the science, research and innovation sectors. He has considerable experience working with research and innovation parks, having led some of the largest investments in science and innovation in recent years and has an enviable track record for delivering successful outcomes.

David has an unwavering aspiration to create an environment that will enable the UK to be a global centre for ground-breaking bioscience research and is passionate that research should change lives. He firmly believes that people are at the root of all great things and has a passion for encouraging development, for ensuring we foster the next generation of great people and provide the opportunity to create the fulfilment and excitement that will in turn motivate to deliver great achievement.  

He has been pivotal in creating a number of significant UK research and innovation campuses that have been successful in building ecosystems around world-leading research institutes to provide a clear path for researchers to deliver tangible benefits for social and economic good.

Previous to joining Anglia Innovation Partnership, he was Executive Director (Finance & Campus Operations) for the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and a director of the Babraham Research Campus management company BBT Ltd in Cambridge. He was also a Director with AIEC, the Aberystwyth Innovation Campus management company, and the facilities company underpinning the Quadram Institute based at Norwich Research Park.

David was awarded a Direct Fellowship to the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, he also holds Fellowships of the Royal Institute of Biology and the Institute of Directors.
