Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) is a versatile, label-free system for detailed studies of biomolecular interactions in real time.

The SPR platform at JIC uses a Biacore T200 instrument (GE Healthcare), which can be used to analyse the specificity, affinity and kinetics of biomolecular interactions. It is typically used to investigate:

  • Protein-protein interactions
  • Protein-ligand interactions
  • Protein-nucleic acid interactions

The Biacore T200 has exceptional sensitivity enabling high quality kinetics from the fastest on rates to the slowest off rates. It is an automated and robust system capable of processing up to 384 samples in unattended runs.
